This policy explains what First Paycheck collects, why, and the choices you have. We keep it plain on purpose.

The short version
We collect as little as possible. We do not sell your data. The tools work without an account, and you only share an email if you choose to.
What we collect
- Your email, only if you subscribe. When you sign up for the newsletter or ask us to email a result, we store your email address so we can send you what you asked for.
- Anonymous usage counts. We tally how many checks, scam tests, and plans are run so we can show simple totals and improve the tools. These counts are not tied to your identity.
- Basic analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand general traffic (pages visited, rough location, device type). This uses cookies. You can block cookies in your browser, and the site still works.
- What you type into the tools is sent to our service provider to generate a result, and is not used to identify you.
We do not ask for sensitive personal information, and you never need to give payment details, because the tools are free.
How we use it
To send you what you signed up for, to keep the tools working, to understand what is helpful, and to improve the site. That is it.
Who we share it with
We use a few trusted service providers to run the site: a hosting provider, a database to store newsletter signups, an analytics provider, and an AI provider that powers the Reality Check and Scam Smell Test features. They process data only to provide their service. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links are partner links. If you sign up with a platform through one, we may earn a commission at no cost to you. Those platforms have their own privacy policies once you leave our site.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from emails anytime using the link in any message, or by emailing us.
- Ask us to delete your email from our list by contacting us.
- Block cookies in your browser to opt out of analytics.
